This apprenticeship has been designed by industry for anyone wanting to work as a Science Manufacturing Technician within a range of organisations; chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and nuclear. Apprentices will carry out and operate the systems and equipment involved in the production of products.
Elements of the Apprenticeship to complete –
- A Health and Safety qualification, Behaviour and Vocational Competence logs
- A Knowledge qualification i.e. BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Applied Science, Level 3 Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering, Level 3 Certificate in Laboratory Technical Skills
- End-Point Assessment with 3 key components
The end-point assessment process is carried once all other elements have been successfully completed. An independent assessor from Science Industry Assessment Service (SIAS) will carry out the 3 stages of the end-point assessment with support from our own assessment team. This apprenticeship is graded at Fail, Pass or Distinction.
Funding Band – 15
Duration – 24 months
The Apprentice is recognised by selected professional bodies at Registered Science Technician (RSciTech) level.
