This apprenticeship has been designed by industry for anyone wanting to work as a Laboratory Science Technician within a range of sectors; chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and nuclear. Apprentices will carry out technician duties such as calibration, quality control, preparing reagents etc.
Elements of the Apprenticeship to complete –
- Health and Safety qualification, Behaviour and Vocational Competence logs
- Knowledge qualification i.e. a L3 Diploma Applied Science
- End Point Assessment with 3 key components
- Synaptic Assessment Test
- Vocational Competence Discussion
- Scenario Based Case Study
This apprenticeship is graded due to the external independent assessment that must take place in the final stages. Apprentices can either fail, achieve a pass or distinction level as their overall grade. CSR will work closely with each apprentice to complete ‘mock’ assessments during the final few months of the programme to properly prepare apprentices to achieve the highest levels of success.
Funding band – 13
This course is delivered either face to face in the workplace or online with planned visits to cover the practical elements of the course.
This Apprenticeship is recognised by the professional bodies at Registered Science Technician (RSci Tech) level.
