Science Apprentices: Skills Development Day

As an apprentice, we understand that working full-time and studying part-time is no easy task.  Apprentices become quite good at juggling a multitude of things, whether it’s at work or outside, but this means that you may not always stop and reflect on your achievements and think about your next steps.

The Skills Development Workshop aims to support you in understanding the value of the skills you’ve gained during your apprenticeship, and how to successfully transition from an apprentice to an employee. Former apprentices will share their experiences and talk about where they are at after completing their apprenticeship. Employers will talk about why they recruit science apprentices and the value to their organisation, and an end point assessment organisation will discuss hints and tips for successfully completing the end point assessment  

This workshop is designed to help you:

  • understand the value of your apprenticeship and the skills you’ve gained
  • complete your end point assessment
  • understand the importance of continuous professional development, e.g. applying for professional registration
  • prepare for possible internal job interviews

This event is in partnership with the Institute of Physics, Royal Society of Chemistry and Royal Society of Biology.
